Let's talk about age.

I'm 33. To some recruiters, I'm "too senior for the role." To others — "not enough enterprise AWS at architect level."

Meanwhile, my friend is 18. Sharp. Writes Terraform like poetry. But no one will hire him because he doesn't have 3 years' experience he couldn't physically have.

Ageism goes both ways. Too young? "Not ready." Too old? "Stuck." Too honest about what you don't know? "Risky." Too independent? "Hard to manage."

You know what actually matters? Execution. Ownership. Delivery.

I've built pipelines that saved weeks. Automated monitoring that cut incident response in half. Handled production while rockets flew overhead.

And my young colleague? Solved architecture issues seniors missed.

So stop looking at age. Start looking at impact.

Real engineers aren't measured in years. They're measured in results.

And some of us — young or not — are damn good at delivering them.
